Q: What is Clifton Park Valor?
A: Clifton Park Valor was organized in 2019 as a Pop Warner football team in Clifton Park, New York. We now compete in the Capital District Youth Football League (CDYFL). We are a recreation team with NO try outs or cuts. We travel within the Capital District playing against other communities.
Q: What league does Clifton Park Valor play in?

Q: What are the grade/age and weight limits for CDYFL?
A: Weight limits are by position and specific to grade levels below. There is no playing "up" (i.e. A 4th grader cannot play against 5th and 6th graders).

Q: What other Capital District communities participate in Pop Warner football?
A: Ballston Spa, Bethlehem, Burnt Hills, Broadalbin Perth, CBA, North Colonie, South Colonie, Glens Falls , Mohonasen, Niskayuna, Schalmont, Scotia, Voorheesville
Q: Are there cheerleaders?
A: We have had cheer for previous years, however in the 2025 season we did not field a Cheer team due to personnel constraints.
Q: When does the season begin and what is the practice format?
A: Practice begins the third week in August and is 3x/week until school starts. The last week of August there is a weigh-in and scrimmage. Practice is 2x/week during school year and last games are played end of October (25th in 2025).
Q: What is the Clifton Park Valor game schedule?
A: Games are played on Saturday afternoons and evenings. There are a total of 8 games.
Q: Where will Clifton Park Valor practice and play?
A: Home games are played on the Shenendehowa Turf Football Field. Practices are held next to High School East on the 7th - 9th grade football practice fields.
Q: Does Clifton Park Valor have the support of Shen and its Athletic department?
A: Yes. Clifton Park Valor has the same support and recognition as the other youth athletics in town.
Q: How do I register my child, what is the size of the team roster, etc.?
A: Registration begins this year in June 2026 and will be displayed on this website. You can also follow us on Facebook.
Q: What is the cost to play on Clifton Park Valor and what equipment does the team provide?
A: The registration fee for Tackle is $295. Flag is $195.
Team issued equipment: game jersey, practice jersey, shoulder pads, helmet, pants.
Player responsibility:
- Cleats, socks, mouthpiece, and any additional pads your child may choose to wear such as wrist pads or arm pads, etc.
- Any and all team-issued equipment must be returned to the team at the end of the season. A parent will be billed for any equipment not returned at 120% of the equipment’s actual cost to account for cost increases, mailing/handling, etc.
Q: How is Clifton Park Valor funded? A: The official name of our corporate organization is: Clifton Park Pop Warner & Cheer, Inc. We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation which means donations are tax deductible. We do not receive any public funds (other than team fundraising), therefore, we are faced with significant expenses for such items as football equipment, football uniforms, field rentals, referee costs, etc. Our organization is entirely funded with donations.
